Event Details
After 5 years in dusty Berlin, dreamy indie artist Ailsa and the Seahorses is coming home to the Burgh, coinciding with the release of debut album Hermit. Come celebrate with us at Leith Depot for an evening of live music, with songs from the album and way beyond. Support from You Are Lost Be Careful.
Head in the cosmos, feet firmly planted to the ground, Ailsa McEwan's (alias Ailsa and the Seahorses) distinct brand of emotionally-charged ethereal indie speaks to the metaphysical, while grounded by the earthly warmth of hushed, honest vocals. Marrying the atmospherics of dreampop and shoegaze with the singer-songwriter tradition, her music - a blend of mysticism and concrete poetry - sets her apart for its unique and mesmerising sound. Recorded at The Famous Gold Watch Studios in Berlin, her debut album Hermit follows a mystical journey through transitions in early adult life.
